Hikayat Dari Bawah Tanah

Familiar tak dengan nama-nama cam Trainspotting? A Clockwork Orange? The Velvet Underground & Nico? Bagi korang yang ber-attitude-kan ala-ala UK, layan British nyer music, dress up ala-ala Pete Doherty (generasi ber-skinny) mesti tau kan. Itu adalah antara tajuk underground film yang mungkin popular pada pendapat aku (maybe sebab aku dah tengok). Tapi sebenarnya banyak lagi filem-filem vintage ni kalau nak habaq pi (akan dilistkan kemudian). Tak tau la kot-kot korang ni just a poser jer, haram jadah apa pun tak tau. Tak best la camtu. Oklah, aku tak nak fokus kat benda lain, tapi aku nak kongsi serba sedikit apa yang aku tau pasal filem-filem old-skool ni.

Kalau korang perasan la filem-filem yang mempunyai nama besar dalam underground scene seperti The Godfather, Scarface, Quadrophenia dan sebagainya ni banyak mengenengahkan unsur-unsur yang agak ’liar’ seperti unsur kemafiaan, punkster, gangsterisme, sex, drugs, violence dan yang sekapal dengannya. Maybe sebab tu lah filem-filem ni tak dihighlightkan kat negara kita. Namun pengaruhnya pada muda-mudi sekarang tak boleh dipandang rendah. Ini ditambah pula apabila filem-filem old-skool ni menjadi inspirasi dan ikon penting bagi brand-brand terkemuka seperti Zara, Topman+Topshop dan Gio-Goi untuk mengeluarkan design-design terbaru stuff diorang. Tidak ketinggalan juga brand-brand designer seperti Andy Warhol dan Vivienne Westwood (designer yang telah membawa elemen punk ke dalam mainstream fashion) yang sememangnya membawa konsep vintage dan banyak menghasilkan design yang diadaptasikan daripada old-skool movies ni.

Info: Pete Doherty (The Libertines) adalah model bagi brand Gio-Goi yang mana telah menerima tawaran menjadi model brand tersebut atas dasar bersaing dengan bekas pacarnya Kate Moss (actress) merangkap model bagi brand Topshop.

Imej dan publisiti filem-filem old-skool ni juga telah dikembangkan dalam music industry oleh band-band terkemuka khususnya britpop dan indie band especially dari europe apabila video clip diorang banyak menyelitkan scene-scene yang terdapat dalam filem-filem ni. Bukan itu sahaja, t-shirt dan berbagai merchandise filem old-skool ni dipromotekan oleh band-band ni melalui video clip, tv special, tour, gig dan konsert mereka. Antara band yang aku tau yang anggotanya kerap menayang t-shirt filem-filem underground ni adalah seperti The Strokes, Adam & The Ants, Lockjaw, The Libertines, Sonic Youth, Death Cab For Cutie, The White Stripes, Stiff Little Fingers, The Cortinas, Radiators From Space, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys dan banyak lagi la (otak aku pun dah hang nak ingat semua).
